Finally!

Callie is finally over her stomach virus (knock on wood)!!!  We thought it was never going to end, but for the last two days she has been very healthy.  She definitely caught a bad bug and it took her about eight days to get over it.  We ended up taking her to the ER again on Saturday (the child can never get sick during normal doctor's office hours) because we thought she was getting really dehydrated.  The hospital we went to had a Pediatrician on call and she decided to start an IV and get some much needed fluids into Callie.  The doctor did a great job starting the IV (I was kind of nervous since the easiest place for an IV on Callie is in her foot) and the fluids really helped Callie feel better and gave her the extra energy she needed to fight off the rest of the virus.  We also had a blood count done to make sure that her platelets were okay, sometimes they can go down during illness.  Well, it turns out that Callie likes to produce platelets when she is sick because they were at 87,000, up 20,000 from a month and a half ago!!  Now we are just trying to get back into her normal schedule and routine, which is proving to be kind of difficult.  Scott and I have both learned to have lots of patience during this time.  It has definitely been a tough week with not a lot of sleep and lots of worrying about our little girl, but now that she is healthy it's back to lots of giggling and playing :)

Scott was also busy getting his arm healthy while all of this was going on.  He threw one inning in a Minor League game yesterday and did well.  He was actually called back up to the Big League team today and will make his next start on Sunday.  We are very excited that he is back up, but it also means that he has to leave tomorrow for a five day road trip.  Callie and I were getting spoiled with him home every day after he hurt his arm.  I guess we will just have to readjust :)

I will post some new pictures soon.  Callie wasn't in the best picture taking mood while she was sick :)
